Job summary

OptumCare in Worcester, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative patient care across pediatric to geriatric patients. You will assist physicians with exams, immunizations, and injections, while documenting care in the EMR and preparing treatment rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) or willingness to attain within 180 days of start date.
• Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of office and laboratory procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs.
• Document patient care using electronic medical record software.
• Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations.
• Assist providers with minor in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing.
