Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant to join the practice team. This role entails answering phones, scheduling, registering patients, collecting co-pays, and providing administrative support to physicians.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; CPR certification; one year of experience in a medical setting. Training is provided for those without MA training. The position is full-time with rotating hours.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; MA certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required; prior medical office experience preferred; on-the-job training provided for those without MA training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Education

Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred
