Description

Hours: 8am - 5pm / Full time / 40 hours

We are seeking a capable Medical Assistant / MA with broad experience in patient care and a sound understanding of caring for a specific patient population.

• Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
• Responsible for routine and complex clinical duties such as taking vital signs, administering medications per policy, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient setting.
• Assists in emergency situations as directed.
• May handle administrative duties like patient check-in/out, responding to requests, patient education, and reception.
• Maintains patient records ensuring proper identification, documentation, and confidentiality.
• Ensures a clean and safe environment per safety standards.
• Orders and verifies supplies.
• All duties performed in accordance with Emory Healthcare standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills
• One year work experience preferred
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Certification as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA (preferred: CMA or RMA)
• Complete orientation and annual skills competency
