Job Title: Medical Assistant - Family Medicine at McLaren Health Care

Join us to apply for the Medical Assistant - Family Medicine role at McLaren Health Care.

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, you will provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in a variety of medical procedures and tests, including vital signs, procedures, treatments, administering injections, and venipuncture. You will also assist with clerical duties to maintain efficient operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Perform to service excellence standards:
2. Respond promptly, professionally, and courteously to all customer needs.
3. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
4. Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
5. Prepare examining rooms, including turning on computer terminals and stocking supplies.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant, OR
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized program (medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, or armed services medic).
• For clinics with Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by AHA, ARC, or Canadian equivalents is required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• AHA BLS Certification (may be required at management discretion).
• Experience with electronic medical records.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• One-year experience in a medical office with multiple providers.
• Previous experience in the same specialty.
