Provides clinical support to healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services.

Practice Overview

We are a rural health multispecialty clinic with 7 providers. Our current office hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with plans to expand to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the future. Each provider sees approximately fifteen to twenty patients daily, covering a wide age range from birth to end of life. Patients visit for wellness checkups or various ailments.

Essential Functions

1. Facilitates efficient patient flow, including preparing patients for visits, providing services and education as directed by providers, in accordance with licensure and policy.
2. Performs administrative duties to ensure all information is current, including maintaining and monitoring electronic health records.
3. Maintains cleanliness of the environment, work area, and equipment; reports malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
4. Greets and communicates with patients and significant others respectfully, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
5. Collects, monitors, and reports patient data; documents care according to guidelines; and handles patient chargeable items/services appropriately.
6. Monitors processes and services for quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency; participates in quality improvement activities and implements operational improvements.
7. Engages in ongoing professional development, including required training and education, to maintain competence and skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
• One year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.

• Must obtain one of the following within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required within 120 days.
