Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care in alignment with the Ohio Administrative Code. The role involves clinical and administrative duties customized to each practice’s size and specialty, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate EMR documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant credential or equivalent, BLS certification, and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Medical Assisting or equivalent training.
• Military Medic training or Paramedic (EMT-P) certification are acceptable alternatives.
• At least one year of experience as a physician-trained Medical Assistant in a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits and support provider services.
• Maintain Care Connect EMR documentation and patient data entry.
• Handle administrative duties to keep information current and accurate.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and report equipment issues.

Education

High School Medical Assistant Career Tech Program

Graduation from an accredited School of Medical Assisting

Military Medic training

Certification as a Paramedic (EMT-P)

At least one year of experience as a physician-trained Medical Assistant
