Job description

This medical assistant will work in a fast-paced primary care clinic at Downtown Family Medicine. Downtown Family Medicine is a primary care clinic serving vulnerable populations from birth to geriatrics, including pregnancy care. This medical assistant will work one on one with a provider and perform tasks such as vitals, labs, tests, vaccine administration, and medication administration per provider delegation.

  • Room patients through taking vital signs and reconciling records.
  • Perform tasks such as injections, lab draws, vision and hearing screenings.
  • Perform point of care testing and report abnormal lab values to providers.
  • Instruct patients on proper collection techniques for urine tests, swabs, and screening questionnaires.
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms.
  • Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report these to the provider.
  • Assist providers with procedures and medical exams.
  • Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family, and providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required:
  • Must have Certified Medical Assistant (C-MA) with Washington Department of Health in good standing.
  • One (1) academic year of formal education at the post-secondary level at an accredited medical assisting school or the equivalent.
  • Washington State Drivers' License or the ability to provide transportation to work.
  • Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Experience using trauma informed care practices and principles.
  • Multilingual

Work Schedule

This position is Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.

Work Location

This position is located at Downtown Public Health Center, 2124 4th Ave Seattle, WA 98121.

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

This position is represented by PROTEC 17 Labor Union.
