Job description

Summary

Public Health Seattle & King County’s Community Health Services (CHS) division is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the float pool team. The role involves serving patients across multiple programs such as primary care and sexual reproductive health. The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, performing tasks like taking vitals, lab tests, vaccine administration, and other delegated duties.

Job Duties
  1. Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
  2. Perform injections, lab draws, vision and hearing screenings
  3. Prepare and clean exam rooms
  4. Recognize symptoms of common illnesses and report to provider
  5. Act as liaison between patient, family, and providers
  6. Assist providers with procedures and exams
  7. Perform point of care testing and report abnormal values
  8. Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified
  • Completed training from an accredited program
  • Valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR card
  • Valid Washington driver’s license and ability to travel between clinics
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual proficiency
  • Experience with electronic health records, especially EPIC
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and harm reduction principles

Special Requirements

  • Respond to emergencies outside regular hours if needed
Work Schedule and Location

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. The position covers multiple sites including Downtown, Eastgate, Kent, Auburn, and Federal Way, depending on staffing needs. Residency in Washington and proximity to worksites are required.
