MUST:
1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Ability to work with clinical staff and handle pressure from more than one provider
Ability to learn about patients and their problems
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Attentive to detail and accuracy and spelling
EMR experience
DUTIES:
Prepare patient for examination.
Note brief history and reason for visit in the patients chart.
Assist the physician in completing examination and procedures as instructed.
Completely fill out lab slips and other forms, when necessary.
Administer medications as ordered.
Completes timely documentation of notes.
Assist the physician in patient education.
Stock exam rooms with supplies.
Complete MA performance criteria training sheet.
Clean medical instruments and equipment.
Prepare all trays for procedures.
Ensures all laboratory or pathology results are properly documented in patients record.
Ensures patient follow-up phone calls are made regarding path/lab results and any necessary treatment needed.
Ensures all medications are drawn up as needed.
Adheres to all OSHA standards regarding PPE (gowns, gloves, safety goggles) when performing patient care and for all surgical procedures.
Rotate surgical scheduling with other team members as well as triage of patient phone calls.
Reviews consent forms.
Provides proper wound care and suture removal instructions to patients.
Demonstrates proficiency in use and maintenance of autoclave.
Delivers proper bandaging of intra-operative and post-operative wounds.
Other duties as assigned.
