Job description

This position is for pre-health graduates. Under the direct clinical supervision of the on-site physician, assists in the delivery of patient care. Performs delegated medical tasks, assists physicians and nursing staff with patient care, and may perform clerical duties. When using electronic systems, will utilize the EMR for documentation. Access to medication storage areas and transportation of medications are required. Under the supervision of the manager or designee, participates in daily operations and patient flow, along with other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required
  • CPR certification is required
Essential Functions
  • Gather and document brief history and chief complaint in the medical record/EMR.
  • Follow established clinic workflows to ensure efficiency and timely service.
  • Prepare patients for examination, perform and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and risk screening. Report out-of-range values to the provider.
  • Perform routine clinic testing such as point-of-care testing, hearing screening, pulse oximetry, etc., following applicable protocols.
  • Assist providers with procedures and minor surgical procedures.
  • Obtain blood and urine specimens as per provider orders.
