Henry Ford Health seeks a Medical Assistant for the Ford Road Dearborn, MI location. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role supports providers by performing administrative and clinical tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or MA externship, current BLS-C, and Epic EMR experience is preferred. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program with formal clinical externship (160 hours) or equivalent clinical experience within past five years.
• Current CMA certification with at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience OR licensed practical nurse (LPN) or licensed paramedic/EMT with clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C required upon hire or by end of orientation.

• Obtain and document accurate medical histories.
• Measure and record vital signs for examinations or procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the clinical team.

What You Will Do

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
