Job summary

MaineHealth’s Dermatology team in Damariscotta is seeking a Medical Assistant dedicated to patient care and teamwork. You will support providers through skin checks, procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and efficient flow in a fast-paced specialty clinic.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or GED preferred; training in Medical Assisting with clinical hours or equivalent experience.
• License/Certifications: BLS required within 30 days; professional certification preferred (AAMA/NHA/AMT/NCCT/NREMT).
• Experience: Relevant MA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support dermatology providers with patient procedures and treatments.
• Assist patients during routine skin checks and treatments.
• Provide compassionate, organized teamwork and patient communication.

1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position.
Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
