Job summary

Independence Physician Management (IPM) is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient care within a busy clinic in the Las Vegas area. The role includes vital signs, venipuncture, injections, and preparing patients for exams under physician direction.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant program completion, BLS/CPR, and at least one year of MA experience. Duties include front desk support, documentation in EMR, and adherence to IPM policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant
• Familiarity with medical terminology required
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol)
• General medical office procedures
• Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol)

Responsibilities

• Participates in decision-making and process improvement.
• Ensures patient rooms and stations are stocked, clean, and equipment is clean and functioning.
• Distribute referrals to physicians and insurance companies; document referrals in patient charts.
• Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests as necessary.
• Phone/faxing patient prescriptions as necessary.
• Schedule imaging studies and other appointments; complete paperwork.
• Triages patients, checks vitals, administers injections and venipunctures, prepares patients for exams.
