Job summary

Valley Health Physician Alliance in Las Vegas area is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant with benefits and a daytime schedule. You will assist in examination and treatment under the direction of a physician, interview patients, measure vital signs, perform venipuncture, and document in the EMR according to IPM guidelines.

You will prepare treatment rooms, help cover the front desk as needed, support infection prevention standards, and help coordinate referrals and tests for patients across

Responsibilities

• Participates in decision-making and process improvement.
• Keeps patient rooms, nursing station and storage rooms stocked and clean; ensures equipment is clean per infection prevention standards.
• Distribute referrals to physicians and insurance companies; document referral requests/responses in patient charts.
• Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.).
• Phone/faxing patient prescriptions as necessary.
• Schedules Diagnostic Imaging studies and related appointments and completes paperwork.
