Job summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) will provide direct patient care and clinical support to providers at the University of Kentucky.

Duties include obtaining patient history, expediting flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating the electronic health record system, scheduling and following up on appointments, and assisting with medication fill requests, prior authorizations and scheduling tests.

Qualifications

• 1 year clinical experience
• BLS certification (AHA) or eligible by date of hire
• Eligible to obtain the license/registration as listed in the posting

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical history information.
• Expedite patient flow and room patients.
• Stock clinic with supplies and manage the electronic health record (EHR).
• Schedule and follow up with appointments; assist with medications, prior authorizations and tests.
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurers, patients and physicians in a respectful manner.
