Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the care delivery team in Junction City, KS. The role assists Registered Nurses with direct patient care, performs routine procedures under supervision, and maintains accurate documentation in electronic records.

The position emphasizes safety, patient privacy, and efficient workflow to ensure quality, patient-centered care. Prior clinical office experience and relevant certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• A CMA, CMA, RMA, CNA, EMT, or PCT certification may substitute for the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients to exam rooms for office visits and procedures, following prescribed workflows.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Retrieve voice mail messages, record, and route to licensed staff.
• Document medical information using the appropriate electronic applications and/or forms.
• Prepare and maintain patient’s medical record and charges while in the department, ensuring confidentiality of all patient information.
• Coordinate patient services to include: lab tests, point of care testing, x-rays, diagnostic procedures, consults, home care, and acute care admissions.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist with referrals, prior-authorizations, and benefit investigations.
• Point of care testing and/or phlebotomy as indicated by work area.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, examination, and treatment rooms; restock.
