Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Park Ave State College clinic. This full-time position supports Family Medicine operations, assists with specimen collection, laboratory studies, patient flow, and scheduling, serving as a preceptor for new MA orientation and MA student instruction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 6 months of employment date.
• Certification or registration as Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) required or eligible within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Record vital statistics or other health information.
• Assess physical conditions of patients to aid in diagnosis or treatment.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use.
• Give medications or immunizations.
• Interview patients to gather medical information.
• Schedule patient procedures or appointments.
• Process medical billing information.
