Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide care, obtain specimens, perform routine lab studies, and support patient flow and scheduling. This full-time role (FTE 1.0) has day shift hours with varied start times and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

The position also involves serving as a trained preceptor for new MA orientation and for MA students; high school diploma required; CMA/RMA certification required or within 90 days;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet eligibility to sit for exam and obtain CMA or RMA certification within 90 days or hold CMA/RMA active status.
• BLS certification required or must obtain within 6 months of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with health care services, specimen collection, and routine lab studies.
• Coordinate patient flow, scheduling appointments, and phone messages; support administrative tasks.
• Serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and MA students.
