Richmond University Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant Coordinator (non-exempt) to oversee daily clinical and administrative workflows, support patient scheduling, authorizations, and provide clinical assistance to physicians. This role ensures smooth patient flow and accurate EMR documentation in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of healthcare experience, BLS certification, and an accredited certificate/diploma.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical assistant or healthcare setting.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certificate/Diploma from an accredited program required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily patient flow, including scheduling, follow-ups, and provider support.
  • Obtain and manage insurance authorizations and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and manage medical records.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare patients for provider encounters, including rooming and intake.
  • Take and record vital signs; perform EKGs, blood draws, and injections.
  • Support office operations and assist the Office Manager with workflow coordination.
