Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Medical Assistant student enrolled in a Technical School Co-Op program to support clinical care under supervision. The role focuses on safe patient care, clerical and clinical tasks, and collaboration with providers and staff.

Responsibilities include patient rooming, data entry in the EHR, preparing patients for visits, and assisting with orders and specimen labeling as needed. This is a hands-on learning opportunity within our MA program.

Qualifications

• Concurrent Vocational or Technical training in Nursing required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Greets, identifies, transports and/or escorts patients to exam room.
• Accurately obtains all elements of the MA rooming standards.
• Documents data in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Reports findings as needed to provider.
• Using the Pended Order workflow, pends orders as needed for provider signature.
• Prepares patient for examination: asks patient for chief complaint, symptoms and duration in EHR.
