Job summary

Nebraska Cancer Specialists is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant, CNA, or CMA to join our team in Omaha. You will greet patients, record vitals, review medications, and prepare charts for providers while acting as a communication liaison between physician and patient.

Qualifications

• CNA or Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with EMR systems such as Cerner, Epic and Onco is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, compassion, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a kind and caring manner and prepares rooms.
• Takes and documents vitals, reviews meds and notes changes.
• Prepares patient charts by obtaining needed records before visits.
• Acts as liaison between physician and patient and documents plan of care.
• Keeps exam rooms tidy and stocked with supplies.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greets patients in a kind and caring manner, timely rooms patients.
• Provides emotional support, physical comfort, and safe care to patients.
• Taking and properly documenting vitals.
• Review medications, any changes, and properly documenting.
• Prepares patient charts for the providers by obtaining any needed medical records prior to patient visit.
• Serves as a communication liaison between the physician and the patient.
• Properly and timely documents pain, plan of care, screenings, and other items as necessary.
• Keeps exam rooms tidy and stock supplies.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistants and Medical Assistants will be considered.
• Knowledge of EMR systems such as Cerner, Epic, and Onco is preferred.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, be focused and organized, multi-task and keep a fast pace while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
