Job summary

Nebraska Cancer Specialists is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant/CNA/CMA to join our clinical team. You will greet patients, document vitals, review medications, and prepare charts ahead of visits while supporting physicians and patients with timely communication.

Experience with EMR systems (Cerner, Epic, Onco) is preferred. This on-site role offers Monday–Friday schedules, a generous benefits package, and education support to help you grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification is considered.
• EMR systems Cerner, Epic, and Onco knowledge preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, able to multitask and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a kind, caring manner and prep exam rooms.
• Take and document vitals accurately.
• Review medications and record any changes in the chart.
• Prepare patient charts by obtaining needed records before visits.
• Serve as liaison between physician and patient and document plans.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greets patients in a kind and caring manner, timely rooms patients.
• Provides emotional support, physical comfort, and safe care to patients.
• Taking and properly documenting vitals.
• Review medications, any changes, and properly documenting.
• Prepares patient charts for the providers by obtaining any needed medical records prior to patient visit.
• Serves as a communication liaison between the physician and the patient.
• Properly and timely documents pain, plan of care, screenings, and other items as necessary.
• Keeps exam rooms tidy and stock supplies.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistants and Medical Assistants will be considered.
• Knowledge of EMR systems such as Cerner, Epic, and Onco is preferred.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, be focused and organized, multi-task and keep a fast pace while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
