Job summary
JMA Pediatrics in Clayton, North Carolina is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to join our outpatient team. Responsibilities include managing intake with vital signs, recording measurements, gathering medical and social histories, reviewing medications, and assisting the provider during exams and procedures.
Vaccinations, phlebotomy, basic lab testing, and post visit instructions are provided under supervision.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Proficient in medical administrative support and patient care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience with EHR systems and vital sign monitoring.
- Basic life support certification.
- Experience in outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
- Take and record vital signs, height, weight, vision and hearing.
- Gather patient and family data, including medical and social history.
- Review current medication list, allergies and preferred pharmacy.
- Assist the provider during treatments, examinations and procedures.
- Administer vaccinations under provider direction.
- Collect specimens, perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing.
- Review patient records to determine care needs.
- Provide after-visit summaries and follow-up instructions.
