Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans seeks a Medical Assistant at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia to support physicians with patient care, EKGs, phlebotomy and injections. The role involves patient flow, charting vitals, and assisting in examinations while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain MA certification within six months of hire. Some NJ-specific education requirements apply, and Einstein staff may have alternate certification

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• For NJ applicants: post-secondary medical assisting education program including 330 hours and injections.
• Internal Einstein applicants only: MA certification not required if current Einstein employee hired before 7/1/2024.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures, including EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and smooth operations.
