Qualifications

• One (1)+ year experience in a medical setting, preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
• Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with proper grammar and spelling.
• Interpersonal skills to support customer service and team collaboration.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills and routine software use.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams and treatment.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vitals.
• Escort patients and prepare them for the physician.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Ensure consent forms are obtained prior to treatment.
• Prepare and administer medications under physician direction.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing.
• Explain procedures, medications, and care instructions to patients.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Provide prescription information to pharmacies as directed.
• Keep treatment rooms clean and stocked.
• Prepare sterile fields and maintain sterility during procedures.
• Monitor patient condition and notify provider of distress.
• Clean rooms and equipment between patients; dispose of waste properly.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate tests/admissions.
• Change wound dressings as required and greet patients on arrival.
• Inventory and order supplies; ensure equipment is functional.
