St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant for Practice Operations. The role supports clinical workflow, prepares patients for examinations, and assists with injections, vaccines and administrative tasks.

The candidate should have a year of clinical experience or certification from a Medical Assistant program, plus CPR/BLS certification and strong teamwork skills. This on-site position emphasizes quality improvement and patient care across the care team.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience or graduation from Medical Assistant program is required.
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or within 60 days of hire; through Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• On-boarding checklist will be completed during the onboarding process and records retained at the practice location.

Responsabilités

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment.
• Completes pre-charting of all value-based pieces up to five days prior to patient’s appointment.
• Prepares patients for examination and escorts them to the exam room, updating demographics and medical history.
• Provides other patient care services: keeps rooms clean, maintains supplies, cleans instruments, gives injections or immunizations per state guidelines.
• Communicates with providers and Care Team regarding discharge, ED visits, labs, and specialist visits.
• Participates in department activities and meetings; supports team problem-solving and process improvement.
• Disposes bio-hazardous and regular waste per protocol.
• Maintains vaccine temperature logs, inventory and ordering of supplies; stocks rooms to par levels.
• Performs administrative tasks like check-in/out and opening/closing procedures.
• Provides suggestions for improvement to Practice Managers and Providers.
