Job summary

Advocate Health Wake Forest Health Network in North Wilkesboro, NC seeks a Medical Assistant for a full-time role. You will prepare patients for exams, collect specimens, and assist clinicians with procedures, supporting clinic flow in a 40-hour work week.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, BLS certification, and CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA credentials. One year of experience is preferred and strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• 1 year experience in medical assisting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), CCMA, NCMA, RMA or related credentials encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for exams, obtain vital signs, and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., strep tests, wound culture) using aseptic technique.
• Assist physicians with procedures and administer routine medications under orders.
• Support referrals, scheduling, and communication within the care team.
