St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is seeking a Medical Assistant in Philadelphia County, responsible for administering direct care and managing patient flow under RN supervision. The role involves both clinical and clerical tasks, ensuring efficient office operation while providing quality care.
Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of experience, ideally in Pediatrics, and must possess BLS Certification and a Medical Assistant Certification. The position offers generous benefits, including tuition assistance and flexible work hours.
The Medical Assistant administers and performs triage and direct care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the RN/Nurse Manager. This includes functions such as height/weight and vital signs, updating medical records, and assisting the clinicians with exams as requested. The Assistant ensures a smooth flow of patients through the office by providing efficient basic care. The role also involves routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the office running smoothly, including clerical support such as checking patients in and out, filing, copying, answering the phone, patient registration and pre-registration as requested by the Practice Manager.
Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8 1/2 hours per day; work schedule will be between 7:45 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. with advanced notice given. The scheduled start and end times require flexibility to meet the needs of the practice.
