Job summary

Atlantic Medical Management, LLC is seeking a flexible Medical Assistant to support multiple clinics in a float role. You will travel between sites, assist with patient care from pre-visit to post-visit, record vital signs, and document in NextGen EHR.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic education or training in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various clinics as needed, adapting quickly to different clinic environments.
  • Coordinate and conduct patient care from pre-visit through post-visit.
  • Obtain medical histories and record vital signs.
  • Use motivational techniques to engage patients in self-care.
  • Document patient data accurately in NextGen EHR.
  • Explain treatment procedures clearly to patients.
  • Assist physician during examinations and procedures; handle instruments; administer injections and dressings.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform CLIA-waived tests.
  • Prepare treatment rooms; keep them stocked, neat, and clean.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment following safety protocols.
  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated.
  • Engage in continuous self-education.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and flexible Medical Assistant to join our team. In this float position, you will provide support across various clinics based on staffing and patient needs. Your adaptability and commitment to patient care will be essential in ensuring our operations run smoothly.

Clinical Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Travel to various clinics as needed, adapting quickly to different clinic environments, and procedures while maintaining a high standard of care, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Assist in coordinating and conducting patient care from pre-visit through post-visit.
  • Obtaining medical histories and recording vital signs.
  • While interviewing patients to obtain medical information use self-management and motivational techniques to engage patients in self-care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient data in NextGen EHR with essential information.
  • Thoroughly communicate and explain treatment procedures to patients using effective and appropriate communication skills.
  • Assisting the physician during the examination and procedures, handling instruments and materials, or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures; Changing sterile and non-sterile dressings.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform CLIA Waived laboratory tests on premises
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms stocked, neat, and clean.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and infection control protocols.
  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
  • Engage in continuous self-education to enhance your skills and knowledge in the medical field.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Must have thorough education or training in the basics of medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to various clinic environments and embrace changes with enthusiasm.
  • Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker.
  • Active listener who can analyze, negotiate, and respond appropriately to the message being communicated.
