Description

The PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (Certified) to assist physicians and nursing staff in patient examinations and treatment.

Essential Functions

• Prepare patients of all ages for examinations and treatment.
• Take patient histories and vital signs, perform audiograms, vision checks, ECGs, administer medications and immunizations, and obtain specimens.
• Perform procedures and administer medications/diagnostic agents as delegated.
• Provide general nursing care in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with supplies, clean and sterilize instruments daily.
• Assist in coordinating patient flow and escort patients.
• Maintain patient files, handle medical faxing and copying, and support projects.
• Provide administrative support, answer phones, schedule appointments, and handle mail.
• Prioritize calls and address patient concerns within 2 business days.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C / CMA) license in Washington.
• At least 6 months of experience working with patients of all ages.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records systems.
