Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant to provide pediatric clinical and administrative support in ambulatory clinics in Little Rock. Under licensed provider supervision, you will work with physicians, nurses, and the care team to deliver high-quality pediatric care.

The role requires completion of an accredited medical assistant program and a high school diploma or GED, with 1 year healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Provides comprehensive pediatric clinical support, including patient intake, vital signs, growth assessment, and accurate EHR documentation.
• Administers medications and immunizations under provider order and within delegated scope of practice.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as delegated and in accordance with safety standards.
• Conducts point-of-care testing and clinic-based diagnostics as delegated, documenting results per workflow.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and notifies the licensed provider.
• Maintains accurate EHR documentation in Epic for procedures, education, orders, and results.
• Contributes to quality improvement and population health initiatives including vaccines and PCMH.
• Delivers patient and family education to promote understanding and engagement.
• Supports clinic flow, infection prevention standards, and operational efficiency.
• Performs additional duties to support safe, high-quality patient care.

Working under the direct supervision and delegation of a licensed provider, the CMA partners with providers, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, high-quality pediatric care. This role performs a broader scope of delegated clinical functions and supports quality, safety, and operational excellence across the clinic environment.
