Job summary

Arkansas Children's is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant at the Southwest Little Rock Clinic to assist physicians in patient exams and treatments, including vaccines. The role focuses on direct patient care under physician supervision and requires completion of an approved MA program.

The position requires HS diploma or GED and an MA credential; prior healthcare experience is preferred. Salary starts between $17.20 and $21.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of accredited medical assistant program.
• Related Field - 1 year healthcare or related setting as MA.

Responsibilities

• Completes and documents patient care in a safe, efficient and timely manner in the chart/record.
• Plans, prioritizes and organizes patient care tasks
• Completes routine patient care tasks, including lab functions and medication administration (including vaccines).
• Recognizes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed staff or provider.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency situations and reacts appropriately.
• Performs access-related activities and other support duties as assigned.
• May participate in project management such as Vaccines for Children (VCF) and Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) etc.
• Participates on hospital and system committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
