Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Baptist Heart Specialists at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. The role supports physicians with back-office duties, rooming patients, taking vitals, and performing EKGs.

Travel to other locations is required, with mileage reimbursement provided. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of patient care experience, HS diploma, and BLS; CMA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; AA/AS preferred.
• BLS certification required; CMA preferred.
• Two+ years patient care experience in a physician's office or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical assistance to physicians.
• Obtains vital signs.
• Greets and chaperones patients during visits.
• Maintains medical documentation.
• Schedules care, tests, and referrals as directed by the physician.
• Processes prescription requests and referrals.
