Job summary

Bronson Breast Surgery (BMH) in Kalamazoo is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time schedule (80 hours per pay period, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm). You will perform general MA duties, record vital signs, immunizations, and assist providers with patient care and documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, successful completion of an accredited MA program, CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or eligibility within 6 months, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• CMA/CCMA/RMA certification.
• Eligibility to CMA/RMA within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to input and retrieve data in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Perform general Medical Assistant duties under provider direction.
• Record vital signs, immunizations, and initial patient assessment.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments and care.
• Prepare patients for examinations and routine testing.
• Document information in patient charts and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist physician with procedures and coordinate tests and referrals.
• Input and retrieve data in EMR and assist with scheduling.
