Description

Position Purpose:

Are you a caring, detail-oriented Medical Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in women's health? Join our dedicated Breast Surgery team, where you’ll provide essential clinical support to patients throughout their surgical journey. In this role, you’ll be hands-on in preparing patients for office visits and minor procedures, escorting them to exam rooms, taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and ensuring accurate chart documentation in the electronic medical record. You’ll work closely with surgeons and nurses to assist with post-operative care, wound care, and patient education—helping to create a compassionate, supportive experience during what can be a vulnerable time. Your empathy, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality care will make a lasting difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

What You Will Do

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs.
• Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients’ chart after they have been reviewed by the physician.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required
• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus
