Essential Functions

The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to ensure effective patient care. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with providers, assisting with examinations, taking vital signs, managing inventory, and patient health education, among others. Compliance with legal and company policies is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs and patient history.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients, perform screening tests, and explain procedures.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes.
• Request and coordinate diagnostic studies.
• Maintain medical records and handle communications with patients and providers.
• Provide health coaching and support healthy lifestyle choices.
• Maintain clinical supplies and equipment, and ensure safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or related role, or clinical rotation training.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
• Experience with geriatric patients is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% regionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typing skills of at least 40 WPM.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
