Job summary

Oaklawn Medical Group in Marshall, MI seeks a Medical Assistant Student to support clinical and administrative tasks under supervision. You will greet patients, measure vitals, collect histories, prepare for exams, and assist the provider to ensure efficient clinic flow.

Focus on patient-centered care, accurate EMR documentation, scheduling, referrals, and proper specimen labeling. Requires enrollment in an accredited MA program and BLS within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical office or similar setting required.
• Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of patients, doctors, internal callers, and other healthcare personnel.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and assist with flow.
• Measure and record vitals, and collect medical histories.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist provider as directed.
• Document information in EMR accurately and timely.
• Schedule appointments, process referrals and prior authorizations.
• Maintain rooms, equipment, and supplies, and handle calls promptly.
