Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh is seeking a Medical Assistant Apprentice enrolled in a Medical Apprenticeship and Credentialed Training program. The Apprentice performs patient care, technical and clerical tasks under supervision of the Program Manager, Practice Manager, and/or Supervising RN.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration and point of care testing while supporting the practice's needs and the organization's mission and values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• College courses in Medical Assisting required.
• Must be enrolled as a current student with Wake Technical Community College.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Medical Assistant Apprentice is enrolled in a Medical Apprenticeship and Credentialed Training program. The Medical Assistant, Apprentice is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical related functions under the direction and supervision of the Program Manager, Practice Manager, and/or Supervising RN. The Medical Assistant Apprentice performs direct patient care including medication administration and point of care testing under the supervision of certified and credentialed staff. The Medical Assistant Apprentice understands the needs of the practice and supports the mission and values of the organization.
