Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Recognize urgent/emergent needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
• Follow clinic procedures for electronic medical record management.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and assess patient needs.
• Assist with procedures, exams, and operation of diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain aseptic technique and accurately document patient interactions.
• Report results and pertinent information to patients and healthcare team.
• Perform basic medical assistant functions under supervision.
• Maintain professional appearance of exam and procedure rooms.
• Maintain supplies in the assigned area.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification within first year.
• Preferred: Clinic/physician office experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months of hire.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
