Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Anesthesia Pain team at our Detroit campus. The role supports providers and nursing leadership to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a busy ambulatory setting.

The position offers a 40-hour work week with flexible start times and potential weekend Saturdays. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates currently enrolled in or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/EMT with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories to support patient care.
• Measure and record vital signs, contributing to comprehensive patient assessments.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers as needed.
• Perform a variety of clinical tasks to support ambulatory patient care.
