Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a major Michigan health system. Under supervision, you will perform administrative and clinical tasks to support patient care in a busy practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an MA program with externship (160 hours) preferred.
• Alternatively 1 year clinical MA experience in past 5 years.
• Current MA certification with 5+ years of experience, LPN, EMT, or paramedic credentials accepted.

Job Title

Medical Assistant

Family Practice

Shift Hours:

Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The position also requires:

One late evening per week, either Monday or Tuesday.

The second Saturday of each month, from8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (4 hours).

Applicants must be able to consistently meet these scheduling requirements.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).OR

Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.OR

Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).OR

Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.OR

Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
