Job summary

Henry Ford Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing leadership in delivering high‑quality patient care. You will greet patients, obtain histories, measure vitals, and prepare them for exams. You will assist during procedures and ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires MA training with externship or relevant clinical experience, and BLS certification. EPIC EMR experience is preferred and a patient‑focused team environment is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an MA program with externship (160 hours) or 1 year clinical experience in the past 5 years.
• Current BLS-C certification at hire or by end of orientation.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
