Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Munster, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, mid-levels and nurses in an ambulatory care setting. You will manage patient flow, prep exam rooms, perform vital signs and basic point-of-care testing.

The role requires a high school diploma, CMA certification, CPR, and strong communication and customer service skills. The position offers full-time hours, competitive pay and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CMA certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH or NHA required on hire.
• Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship graduates must obtain CMA cert within 6 months of hire.
• Current CPR certification required on start date.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains organized patient flow.
• Performs patient intake: vital signs, height/weight, reason for visit, interim history, allergies, medication lists, and other interventions.
• Prepares patient for exam and assists provider with procedures.
• Reviews appointment schedules and ensures charts are available for visits.
• Performs basic lab studies and phlebotomy as ordered.
• Administers immunizations and medications as directed by physician.
• Maintains exam rooms, cleans and stocks treatment areas, and manages supplies.
