Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams. You will facilitate patient visits, prepare exam rooms, perform routine lab work, and assist with referrals and quality initiatives.

Proficiency with EPIC EMR and accurate vital signs collection is essential for smooth provider flow. Ideal candidates bring a MA certificate or HS diploma with clinical experience, plus a certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program.
• Or a High School Diploma/GED with one year MA experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Certification as Medical Assistant required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider with patient visits and procedures at an ambulatory site.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, referrals, and support quality outcomes for the practice.
• Participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas, clean and stock supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider’s caseload.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on chief complaint and available protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills; maintain positive patient/provider relationships.
