Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Gastroenterology specialty at the Lake Forest Hospital campus. The role supports physicians, nurses and staff by facilitating patient flow, assisting with clinical tasks and handling related administrative duties. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and CMA/MA certification eligibility within six months. Strong computer skills and EMR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have or be eligible for CMA/RMA/NCCT etc. within 6 months of employment.
• Strong computer skills and ability to operate EMR.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for visits, including vital signs and documenting details.
• Assist practitioners with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and CLIA-waived testing as directed.
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory, ensure cleanliness and safety per protocols.
• Interact professionally with patients and care team to support efficient clinic operations.
• Perform delegated procedures for the specialty area and support open/close procedures.
