Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s OptumCare seeks Medical Assistants at levels I–III in Houston to support patient care under licensed professionals. Placement depends on qualifications and experience, with increasing responsibilities at higher levels.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, safety, and assisting with clinical tasks; MA II/III may perform injections and advanced duties. Benefits and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Basic medical/nursing terminology knowledge.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive patient care functions under supervision.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort per standards.
• Perform delegated tasks as directed by physician or RN.
• Assist with basic and advanced clinical tasks appropriate to level.
