Job summary

MedStar Health in Prince Frederick is seeking a Medical Assistant to float across ambulatory sites, starting 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM twice weekly, with a flex day. The role includes venipuncture, vital signs, patient exams support, and clerical tasks under physician/provider supervision.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program; CMA/RMA certification within 1 year is expected. This position may float to Waldorf and other MedStar sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within 1 year required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations and preparations.
• Perform venipuncture, vaccine administration, and vital signs measurement.
• Provide clerical support and back up for Patient Services Coordinator as needed.
• Float to other sites within the system and support as needed.
• Participate in daily team huddles and quality/safety initiatives.
• Greet patients, document activities in EMR, and support discharge activities.
