Job summary

Prestigious Physician Group in Alpharetta is seeking a Medical Assistant for a direct hire. The role pays $25/hr and requires a strong work ethic. The candidate will interview and start ASAP in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

The position is permanent and pay is based on experience. Responsibilities include patient intake, triage, vitals, procedures, injections, blood draws, and admin duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of accredited program for Medical Assisting.
• Must be able to draw blood and have a few years of experience.
• Three or more years of medical assisting experience.
• Ability to read and write medical terminology accurately.
• CPR certification.
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Epic experience is a must.
• Front Office experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage patient flow, directing to discharge counter.
• Obtain patient history, triage, measure vital signs, and chart information.
• Explain procedures and prep exam room for the physician.
• Position and hand instruments to the physician, and sterilize after use.
• Assist physician with procedures as needed.
• Perform dosage calculations for medications.
• Administer injections and vaccinations as required.
• Draw blood samples.
• Complete medical charts with services, results, and supplies.
• Call backs, referrals, testing, and schedule follow-ups.
• Assist registration staff and perform related clerical duties.
• May fill in at Front Desk, answering phones.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, assure patient flow runs smoothly and efficiently, escort patients to discharge counter.
• Obtain patient history; assess/triage patient, measure vital signs, and record information on chart.
• Explain treatment procedures and prepare patient and exam room for examination.
• Position instruments and equipment and hand to physician as directed. Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after use.
• Assist physician with any procedures.
• Perform dosage calculations for administering medications.
• Perform injections and vaccinations as needed
• Blood draws
• Complete medical chart to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
• Perform patient call backs, arrange referrals and testing, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Assist registration staff and perform additional clerical duties as necessary.
• Willing to fill in at the Front Desk checking in/out patients as well as answering phones
