Job summary

New York Oncology Hematology (NYOH) in Albany, NY is seeking an entry-level Medical Assistant to support clinicians in the NYOH Suite at Albany Medical Center. You will escort patients, record vitals, and help prepare exam and treatment rooms.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 0–3 years of medical support experience, and a current BLS certification. The role offers hands-on clinical exposure and opportunities for growth within a leading oncology and hematology network.

Qualifications

• Entry level with 0–3 years’ experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Responds to patients’ calls as requested.
• Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, medical paperwork (FMLA, PFL), etc, as requested by supervisor or physician.
• Alerts nurse/physician of abnormal vitals, any important information given by patient.

Job Description

Pay Range: $17.00 - $23.48 per hour.

This position is located within the NYOH Suite at Albany Medical Center.
