Job summary

OnePeak Medical Office & Corporate is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers across administrative tasks and patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will be integral in rooming patients, managing the inbox, handling prescriptions and faxes, and maintaining exam rooms with attention to safety and compliance.

Essential duties include chart preparation, lab results incorporation, patient education, and coordination with front desk for scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CMA and CPR/BLS certifications are preferred/required where stated.
• Recent medical assistant experience is favored.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Medical Assistant for the designated provider(s).
• Assist with inbox management, prescriptions, and faxes.
• Room patients and manage intake procedures.
• Maintain and stock exam/treatment rooms and equipment.
• Prepare patient charts with external lab results and visit notes.
• Document patient charts and lab results in EHR/EPM systems.
• Provide patient education and assist with scheduling.
• Handle callbacks and patient portal inquiries promptly.
• Cross-train in clinic areas including phlebotomy and front desk duties.
• Attend trainings and follow HIPAA/OSHA regulations.

As a Medical Assistant, you will be integral in supporting the provider by performing both administrative tasks and patient care. Your role is pivotal in maintaining high patient satisfaction through the delivery of exceptional service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Medical Assistant for the designated provider(s).
• Assist providers with their "Inbox" and manage prescription refills and faxes.
• Assist in rooming patients, ensuring familiarity with the rooming process and intake procedures.
• Prepare, stock, clean, and maintain examination and treatment rooms and equipment.
• Prepare patient charts, including incorporation of outside lab results and visit notes from other providers, and ensure lab reports and diagnostic test results are collected.
• Contribute to patient chart documentation.
• Execute all duties and responsibilities within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Practice Management (EPM) systems in accordance with standardized protocols.
• Deliver patient education, accompany patients to the front office for scheduling.
• Handle callbacks and respond to patient portal tasks and inquiries promptly.
• Crosstrain in various clinic areas, including laboratory, phlebotomy and front desk duties
• as needed and able.
• Attend and complete department and clinical meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Adhere to and enforce all HIPAA and OSHA compliance laws and regulations.
• Adhere to OnePeak Medical's policies and procedures, as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required in support of OnePeak Medical.
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to meet business needs, potentially traveling to other clinics.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent - required
• Current BLS and/or CPR/AED Certification – required
• Recent medical assistant experience, minimum of 6 months – strongly preferred
• CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) Certification – sstrongly preferred
• CPT (Certified Phlebotomist Technician) Certification – sstrongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Move supplies up to 25 lbs
• Lift equipment up to 25 lbs
• Standing and walking 50% of time
• Typing and sitting 50% of time

Salary Range for this Role

$19.76 - $23.25 USD
